Sport Management Students Played Vital Role as Volunteers at THE PLAYERS Championship

The 成人大片's sport management students played an integral part of the tournament operations, event staffing and product sales at this year's THE PLAYERS Championship from March 6-15, 2026, at TPC Sawgrass.
The PGA TOUR Fan Shop is housed in a retail space that reaches over 40,000 sq. feet. It is where fans who have traveled from across the country look to purchase merchandise and memorabilia during this signature event on the PGA TOUR. 
Over a hundred sport management students from 成人大片volunteered for the PGA TOUR Fan Shop at TPC Sawgrass to deliver exceptional fan experience during the week of the tournament.
The partnership between UNF's sport management students and the PGA TOUR has thrived over the years, offering hands-on volunteer and practicum opportunities to develop industry knowledge. Over the past three years, 成人大片Sport Management students have accumulated just under 10,000 volunteer hours total at THE PLAYERS Championship.
According to Dr. Kristi Sweeney, Chair of Leadership, Organization and Community Impact (LOCI) and an associate professor of 成人大片sport management program, “THE PLAYERS Championship exposes students to an unmatched real-world experience, strengthens UNF’s reputation as a leader in sport management education and reinforces the program’s commitment to making a positive impact in the Northeast Florida community.”
“Students see firsthand how an empty space is transformed into a dynamic fan experience in a matter of weeks,” said Sweeney. “Opportunities like this provide a level of immersion that can’t be replicated in the classroom."
Through the sport management practicum course, students complete 70 hours of fieldwork under the guidance of industry professionals.
“Our longstanding partnership with THE PLAYERS Championship and the PGA TOUR provides unparalleled, hands-on operational experience at one of the most prestigious events in sport, while also elevating the visibility and impact of our students,” continued Sweeney.
The tournament has been a longtime partner of UNF, as the University was named a key institutional volunteer partner in 2024. 成人大片students volunteering at THE PLAYERS has resulted in significant financial contributions that has funded several scholarships for its sport management majors.
The leadership team at the PGA TOUR is once again grateful for the assistance of all volunteers throughout the tournament week and acknowledges the critical role 成人大片volunteers play in the success of THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
