MSW Intern

Jessy Romeo currently serves as the MSW Intern for our Victim Advocacy Program. In the office, she serves as a confidential resource and a Support Specialist. Her focus is on providing diligent and proactive advocacy services to any and all members of the ³ÉÈË´óƬcommunity while expanding her knowledge of advocacy. As a supportive and attentive advocate for those experiencing victimization of all kinds, Jessy aims to provide empathetic, client focused care to any who enter her office. Jessy's interest in advocacy began when she worked at a group home for disabled women and advocated for individuals who might not have been able to advocate for themselves. Jessy credits this experience with igniting a passion for helping and empowering others. 

Jessy is a graduate of the ³ÉÈË´óƬCollege of Arts and Sciences, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and minor in American Sign Language in August 2025. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program here at UNF, with a concentration in Rehabilitation. Jessy hopes to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the future and dreams of creating a better rehabilitation system for individuals dealing with disordered eating, substance use issues, and others looking for general support.

Student Assistant

Samantha serves as one of the Student Assistants at the Dean of Students Office. Samantha began her higher education at Florida State College of Jacksonville and graduated with her associate degree. She then transferred to the ³ÉÈË´óƬ to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. Her long-term goal is to secure a position working with the FBI. In Samantha’s free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and traveling. Swoop!

Kayla serves as a Student Assistant at the Dean of Student’s Office. Kayla’s major is Business Management. Her higher education journey began at Bethune-Cookman University before transferring to the ³ÉÈË´óƬ. Her ultimate career goal is to manage a health and beauty retail company. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, dancing, and listening to music. Kayla is enthusiastic to be of great assistance to the office!

Skye serves the Dean of Student’s Office as a Student Assistant working with Campus Operations. Skye began her academic career at Valdosta State University majoring in Social Science and was a student staff member of Blazer Sports Media where she was a camera crew member and assisted in editing and production of live sports broadcasts and social media content creation. Skye is completing her Associates Degree as an Osprey and will pursue her Bachelor’s of Science. Skye enjoys time outside of work with family and friends, golf, reading, and volunteering.
